Forgiving People Who Have Hurt You

Ephesians 4:31-32 "Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." Mark 11:25 "And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses."

Matthew 6:14-15 "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."

Luke 6:27 "But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you." Luke 6:37 "Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven"

How To forgive Another

It can be hard to forgive

When someone sins against

But it takes much forgiveness

To in Christ truly live

Forgiveness is a way

To show another love

Forgiveness is a gift

From the father up above

You may never forget

The way you were mistreated

But When God forgives you

Your sins are forgotten and deleted

Following this example

Is not an easy task

Especially if that someone

Thinks they were not wrong

Or for forgiveness,

Never asks

Even if they do not repent

The scriptures says to always love

Love your enemies, love your neighbors

Love like Our God from Heaven does

If we do not have love

Hate can build up from within

And hate brings only bitterness

It can not cover anybody's sin

Hate will consume your energy

It will not set a good example

Hate is not how God would act

And it is often hard to handle

So with every choice you make

When it comes to forgiving others

Let God's love cover all your ways

And let your love cover another's

For we are one big family

We are all sisters and brothers

So be kind today and Try your best

To forgive each other

Love is something very special, it is more than a feeling or commitment, it is also an action. When you forgive someone who wrongs you, it can be very good for your soul. It allows love to enter you, It allows you to let go, and it even shows the person who wronged you, how one should also show another love. The scriptures says this description about love...

"If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing"

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

"Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known."

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." 1st Corinthians, Chapter 13

If you truly believe in God, and if you have ever taken time to read what His Word says, you realize that everything that has to do with God is related to love. The bible talks about, how to love, when to love, what love means and is about. The bible shows examples over and over again of God's love for us, and his promises for us. It also shows us the outcome of remaining in Love. I believe the bible was mainly given to us from God, Our Father, out of his love for us.

When it comes to forgiveness, it is really just one way or act of loving someone. Forgiveness can give you peace instead of hate, it is a way to walk in the light of God, instead of letting it consume you to darkness. The greatest example of forgiveness, was when Jesus Christ, God's only begotten son, died on the cross. His final words before he died, right before he entered the grave to finally defeat Satan, was..."Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do?" and to make this point even greater, when Jesus arose from the grave, he not only holds the keys to hell now, he also won the battle for us, that we have, against Satan.

The reason for this huge act of love, was ideally to show us just how far God will go to give us and show us his love for us. Forgiveness matters, because without it, we are doomed as believers. You cannot truly live if you cannot learn to forgive. "We all fall short of the glory of God." and that means, we all fail perfection. The only way to obtain eternal life is to accept forgiveness and mercy and realize that it is forgiveness that makes us "born again" and "white as snow."

Grace is another form or word for forgiveness. "By grace, we have been saved."

As believers, and followers of Christ, our Lord and Savior, if we can not forgive others, we can not live in love. It truly is very simple. The person who transgressed against you, needs grace just as much as you do and we all wrong someone at some point. Even though it can be hard, and even if you are filled with anger towards another, how can you ever find the peace in love, without the act of forgiveness."

I hope this post, opens up your heart and eyes. I hope this post can bring you hope for a better future and a comfort and peacefulness for your soul." Do everything in love" and remain in the faith, this is what you need to be strong, this is what it means to be a believer.

Prayer For Today

Father God who art in Heaven,

Lord, I come to you today with thankfulness. I am thankful for your Holy Word, I am thankful for the Holy Spirit, I am thankful for Jesus Christ, and I above all else am thankful for Love. Without love we are nothing, life would truly be empty, void, dark and pointless. Help me, father, to forgive, teach me and guide me, when it comes to forgiveness. Allow me to lay all my worries, all my anger or rage, and any hate I may feel towards a person who has wronged me, at your feet. I also ask for peace. If I have sinned against someone, or hurt them in some way, I pray that you open their heart to also forgive me, for I am far from perfect, myself. I believe that love always wins, I believe in your love for me, and I believe love has won. Praise Jesus Christ and Praise you.

In Jesus Christ Name I pray, Amen.
