John's Path

John The Baptist

Isaiah 26:7 "The way of the righteous is smooth; O Upright One, make the path of the righteous level."

Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding"

Proverbs 3:6-7 "In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and turn away from evil."

Isaiah 40:3 "A voice is calling, "Clear the way for the LORD in the wilderness; Make smooth in the desert a highway for our God."

Mark 1:3 " a voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’ John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.…"

Proverbs 4:26-27 "Watch the path of your feet And all your ways will be established. Do not turn to the right nor to the left; Turn your foot from evil."

Mal. 3:1 "Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saithe the Lord of hosts."

John 15:16 "You did not choose me, I chose you."

Two Paths

Everyone has a struggle

A trial they must encounter

Will they fly upwards

Or will they fly downwards

Will they chose a path

That leads to victory

Or a path that leads to death

Will they go right

Or will they go left

Will they use their heart

Or will they use their mind

Will they trust in God

Or will they trust in signs

Which road is the question

What path is the best

Does it matter in the end

If your destiny is set

We are in a battle

Of doing bad or doing right

We are all in a war

We are all in the fight

We are all given free will

We are given the choice

To just stay silent

Or use our influential voice

Do you do whatever you like

Do you try to do your best

To do what God wants

And Let him handle the rest

Follow after Jesus

That's a path you can take

That's the only path to God

So it's the only choice that matters

The best choice you can make

This decision allows you

To let God when this fight

It allows you to take either path

Left or right

Through Jesus you can go

Wherever you like

Because then Jesus's is

Always, right by your side

Leading you into Heaven

Leading you into the light

One last question

To the reader, I ask

When you finally decide

To get on the right path

When you finally choose,

Did you choose God?

Or did God choose you?

Do you ever wonder to yourself, am I the one that gets to decide my destiny? Or is my purpose in life set? Does God choose you and the paths that you are on, or is it all in your own hands and based solely on the decisions you make? Are we truly given the freedom of choice?

If The Word Of God is true, and he has a plan, and his plan is fulfilled, if people prophecy in the spirit of God, and those prophecies come true, than we must assume that he has foretold our destiny, but that he also directs our paths.

Have you ever heard of a man in the bible named John The Baptist? He is a very important man in scripture, which means he was also important to God. Not only God but to Jesus Christ also, and he lived in and by the spirit. Even greater he was a key ingredient to God's heavenly plan for us.

One of the things about John he was a humble man, and he was righteous too. He feared God, and he doesn't seem to have been very materialistic. His mission and destiny that he was to fulfill and did fulfill was prophetic and essential. He was sent by God to carry and become the message of salvation. He lived in the wilderness (desert) , and people from all over the world came to him to where he lived to hear this message. John was the "preparer" of the ways or path for Jesus Christ.

The story of John's life in scripture tells us many important things. God sent him to baptize Jesus, showing us how important it is to be baptized. He also warns us of the judgement to come on us. He preached that the kingdom was coming. He preached about Jesus and Jesus's mission that he was going to, and did accomplish while on earth.

As a believer, I believe in everything that God is and says that he is. I think God does know our future. I think he truly does send us to fulfill his purposes and show us the way that leads to him. But at the same time I think he gives us choice. I have pondered how this can be...? I think we are given the choice to believe, once we give over to the belief and faith, then suddenly God's plan and paths begin to align up to ours. How is that? How can it be so? In the end does God chose you, well yes, yes he does. He knows before hand what your choices will be, what directions you will or not follow, how far your faith will stretch, how much you will trust him to lead you, and even who you will impact.

It's hard to always understand, sometimes as believers we can feel as if we are truly just walking blindly, not knowing all that the future holds. But walking blindly, covering our own eyes, and instead of seeing, and rather allowing God to take our hands and move us into his direction, seems to me like maybe being blind is what God wants. Because we are not all knowing, and he is, this is where faith and trust, and letting go of our control of how things should be or work out, come into play.

Just like John the Baptist, God tells us he has a purpose for us, to not fail but to prosper. We may not understand, yet we believe still." To truly believe, is to let God work, to let God be who he is, to let God be in control. Doing such things, we become smaller, and he becomes bigger.

Prayer For Today

Heavenly, Father who art in Heaven,

You Lord are all knowing. You Lord are truly abiding in all of us. You have set out our paths before us, so that they may be straight, aligning with yours. Let me let you be in control. Help me give up my own wants, and give into yours. As a believer, all I truly desire is to give you the glory, to love and adore you, to worship and praise you, to be as small as I can possibly be, so that you can be as big as you should always be. I trust you, I have faith in you, I believe in you. I do not want to live for my pleasures, but to instead live for you. I may not understand it all, but you do and that is all that matters.

In Jesus Christ Name I pray,

Amen
