A God Who Loved Us First, A Father We Can Trust
Proverbs 18:1 “Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment.”
Proverbs 16:3“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”
2 Timothy 2:15“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”
Psalm 37:5“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.”
1 Corinthians 13:1-13-“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;””
Isaiah 26: 4“So trust in the Lord commit yourself to Him, lean on Him, hope confidently in Him) forever; for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock the Rock of Ages.”
Job 5: 8“As for me, I would seek God and inquire of and require Him, and to God would I commit my cause”
Isaiah 26: 3“You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on you, because he commits himself to you, leans on you, and hopes confidently in you.”
Numbers 23:19“God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?”
TRUTH BY LOVE
God Commits His Love to us So much he sent his son To show us what commitment is By showing Truth by love Love is not just a feeling That blows by with the wind Real Love takes commitment It takes patience, Not Condemns
It shows Faithfulness It Shows Kindness It shows selflessness at the very least It shows selfishness It shows mercy It shows grace that cannot be defeat
Love is sometimes a duty A commitment deep inside our hearts That promises to keep God's ways first A promise that is not easily undone
But God's love and commitment Never fails us though His promises he keeps He is not like man who lies And steals and cheats
So to be more like him We must try and keep our words Keep our promises Our commitments Die for him, and to ourselves Each day By showing TRUTH IN LOVE
Most of the time people like to think commitment is all about us and how we are to keep our promises and our words to God and others. We tend to forget that God committed his love to us, a long time ago, before we were even born, by showing us he loved us and sending us The Word, The Holy Spirit and Christ Jesus. God's commitment to us, is not in any way the same as our failing commitments and promises to him. Unlike us, no matter how good are intentions may be, he doesn't make any promises he will not keep, he never lies or will ever fail us. His words can always be counted on as a truth, his words come to pass and all of his promises and commitments to us come through and work out. (Wow! What an amazing Father we have, Right?)
Ever wonder, why is it that we struggle with our own faults and failures so easily when it comes to commitment? Why do we seem to make promises and make false commitments at times and then they don't end up working out? Why is there so much divorce in the world? Why do other people lie? BUT the biggest question for myself is, Why is it that I find myself lacking in commitment towards my relationship with God,when I promised him ,the day I was truly saved, he would always come first?
The reasoning behind all of these life questions we have is simply, that you, myself, and people in general are imperfect, we fail because we are all sinners. The good news is though, God is NOT, and he gives us many examples of how we can live like him and learn about his ways through his word and by the Holy Spirit that helps guide us along the way.
When we truly commit our souls to him, we also commit our lives and hearts. Once you have done that, It is your responsibility to try and follow his ways and be like him when we make promises or commitments to God and others. Be on your guard though, your word should be the truth. So be slow to speak, think your commitments through, before you make them.
But do not dwell on it too long, if you truly have love and pure selflessness for others your promises should come to pass. If ever in doubt,"Let your yes's be yes's and your no's be no's".
Today, I Urge you to look up to the Father who never lies and ask him to guide you, for his ways never fail. Thank him for sending us the greatest example of true pure love, Jesus Christ. Thank him for being a trustworthy God, and a generous giver of the Holy Spirit that lives within us. If you are struggling with a commitment you have made or a promise you made but did not keep, Call upon The Lord, right now, and pray about it. God is the one to turn our eyes too, he is the one we can always fully trust.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Holy Father God, Who art in Heaven, Holy be your name,
Lord, I come to you today, so thankful for you and the holy spirit and Jesus Christ, my lord and savior, I love you so much and I am so grateful for the ability to be able to read your word every single day and learn from it. I truly desire to be more and more like you. I want others to be able to trust me, like I trust you. I know I am a sinner but help me to keep my words, commitments, and promises to all others, but especially the ones I make to you.
If I have let others down in the past or even you, Lord, I ask for forgiveness. Thank you, God, My Father, for loving me First, If you had not loved me, or shown me what love truly means, I would never be able to adequately love you back, and even more, others. You truly are an amazing God.
In Jesus Christ Holy Name I Pray Amen.
