The Precious Five 3: Jesus

The Third Most Precious Gift is Jesus Christ

John 14:6 "Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Romans 10:9 "If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. "

John 1:29 "The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!"

Titus 2:13 "While we wait for the blessed hope – the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ"

John 11:25 "Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even though they die;"

John 8:58 "Very truly I tell you," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!"

John 8:12 "When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

1st John 1:7 "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin."

Son Of God

Through The Holy Spirit

A baby boy was conceived

To show us the way

To become the kings of kings

There is no other

Who came before

There is no other

To ever come

He is perfect in all ways

He is God's begotten son

He walked the earth as man

He spoke the word

And it came to life

He never walked in darkness

He walked only in the light

He was once just a prophecy

Foretold by men before him

Then he sacrificed himself

So that we could all

Live through him

His blood alone will cover us

As we stand before our Lord

He will save us from damnation

So we can walk through

Heaven's door

While on earth he taught us

The way to live, and the way

To God's kingdom

By his mercy and his grace

We now know how to get in

We should all be humble

Because it's not about what we can do

No it's all about what Jesus did

And about how in him,

He make us brand new

We are so lucky

We get to love him,

We get to know him

In him we can put our trust

And in return he

Pursues us

He saves us

And he loves us

No matter what

Jesus is the third most precious gift to us, but he means just as much to us as the first two and the last two, that we will talk about more later. All of the gifts in this series are equally of importance, but they are also each unique in our walk and life with God.

So Jesus. Who is Jesus? Well we can easily look to the scriptures and find out many facts about him. For example, he has been here since the beginning of creation and was with God at that time, He is the begotten son of God, He was born of virgin Mary, He was perfect and sinless, he was also persecuted and killed on a cross. We also know that his blood covers us and that he is the way and the truth and the life, and the only way to heaven is through him alone...

I could go on and on about many more simple facts and truths, but what I really want to talk about is not what Jesus did or even what he was and is portrayed as on earth and in heaven, I want to talk more about why he did and who he is?

Such as, why did Jesus die to save us? Why did God choose to send him, in particular? Why does abiding in him, lead us to heaven? Who is Jesus really? What makes him so special?

So Jesus is so much more than just a fact or a historical figure we read about in the bible and scriptures. Yes, he may no longer be living on earth and he may have died many many years ago, but in so many extraordinary ways Jesus is still alive, today. He is special, something more than just an ordinary man. He was sent by God, most likely, because he loved us and loves us, just as much as God does. I assume this because Jesus was kind and forgiving, and most people do not die for another just because they are ordered to. For Jesus to be the perfect and last sacrifice, he would have to also be of light and love.

Jesus not only showed us how to live while he was on earth but he also lives in our hearts to this day, people like you and me all have the opportunity to let Jesus come and live within us. Now, what other man can live in us? And what other man can die and still be alive to this day. Well I can think of only him. Jesus truly must love us just as much as God does. He wants us to succeed and be able to live with him in Heaven and in his kingdom. He wants us to feel loved even though we are sinners, he died so we could be spotless in front of God. This is done out of love. I believe God did not just send Jesus because it was an order, but because Jesus was the one who could fulfill the purpose but also because Jesus was the one who had the heart and love for us, to be able to save us, and cleanse us. Jesus is more than just a symbol of a man dying on a cross or prophecy that came to pass, Jesus is literally the embodiment of God's love.

One thing I can honestly say is that Jesus changes you when you let him in. Your goals change, your desires change, the way you act changes, the way you think changes, all the things you were before him, changes. You change because suddenly when he becomes a part of you, you become filled with his undeniable love for you. It's like you can feel that love come to life in you and it makes you in return want to love like that. When you live and walk and love like he did and does, you begin to want to share it with others, because that is how amazing his love feels. Jesus is alive, and he is moving in Christians everywhere down and towards the path that leads to eternal life. He wants us to be with him Forever, He wants us to be in God's kingdom and it's all done out of pure love.

Prayer For Today

Dear Heavenly Father who art in Heaven,

Thank you for Jesus Christ. Thank you for sending him, your son to show us a glimpse of what your love is for us, how to live in that love, and how to share that love with others. Without you and without Jesus we could not truly know what it really means to love. You are an amazing God I look forward and ahead to the eternal life you have in store for me and all who believe in you and your son, Jesus Christ.

In Jesus Christ Name I Pray, Amen
