The Shame We Try To Disguise

My God Is Mighty To Save

Hebrews 10:22 "Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water."

Hebrews 9:14 "How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"

2 Timothy 1:3 "I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day."

Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."

1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness."

Psalms 103:12 "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us."

Micah 7:19 "He will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea."

Hiding from sin, When all I needed was him

I have tried to hide

My sins from you

A thousands times

I thought that I

Could hide them

And all my ways

In disguise

I have thought

To change my ways

And maybe cover up

My past

But that is not the way

You say and so

It never seems to Last

How can you still

Look at me?

How can I ever stand

Before your throne?

When you judge

All the souls of Man

How can you

Still look upon me

And still love me as I am?

It bothers me each day

That nothing I ever do

Really makes any sense?

I tell myself that you

Are high above me

And that your ways are

Higher than mine

I also tell myself sometimes

That I can change

Myself, In time

But many thoughts

Then flood my mind.

They easily then somehow

Distract me from the truth

So It leaves me living in fear

That one day my crimes

Will cause me to lose you

I seem to talk to much

When I pray

Making it hard to hear

What you may have to say

And even when I listen

It is hard to always obey

When everything in life

Overwhelms me

Or when things just get in the way

I seem to give up trying

And so I fail you, every day

But I Open up my heart to you

Because you never fail

And I feel you all around me,

I know you love me anyways

Because Of how you show me

In your words, this way, I can tell

I think I am ready now

To stop trying to on my own

Win this fight

I want to give you everything

My ways, my paths, my life

I want to follow in

Your footsteps

I want to be able

To do what's right

So I will lay my

Struggles and worries

Down at your feet

Every single night

I Believe in you,

You're the only way

To salvation

I trust in you,

I trust your word

I accept your invitation

Even though it will still

Be hard to

Sometimes understand

I live in hope that you

Will never leave me

You are not only my savior

You are also my best friend

Thank you for showing me

That I do not have

To be so afraid

Because you go beside me

And before me

So I can know the way

You have won this battle

For me, because of me,

Jesus is who you sent

And now I know

I do not need to hide

My crimes and all my sins

You have shown me

What love truly means

And so I do repent

And I will bow before you

On judgement day

Because you have

Loved me from

From the beginning

And you will

Love me to the end

We all feel the guilty sting of Shame in our lives. Every day we as imperfect people fail God, even when we are trying so hard not to. Why, you may find yourself wondering, "Why can't I ever seem to do it right? How can God ever forgive someone who sins as I do?" Or worse..."Truly I deserve to be thrown in the fires of Hell, He would never love me, I am too bad to be saved." These kind of questions or thoughts can leave us feeling so guilty, so shameful, so un-savable. Sometimes, they even cripple us from having a relationship with God.

But the scriptures God has given us, tells us that God has loved us from the beginning, even while we where still in our mother's womb. He loved us first, he loves us now, he will love us to the end. God sent Jesus Christ to be a savior to us, to save us, as sinners, from the sin we are in. When we are so afraid of God's judgement, that it blocks us from seeing his love for us, it leaves us with a sinking hopeless feeling. This is not how God wants us to feel. God is so much more than a judge, banging his hammer, He is always ready to forgive us, ready to save us, ready to love us...Just as we are.

If you believe that you are too far gone or lost to start a relationship with God. You are wrong. Because he always leaves an invitation to show you his love for you on the table. He desires to show you his love for you, he wants you to know it, to see it, to feel it, and above all to believe it.

In the end, we all end up as failures, we all end up far from perfection. Perfection is impossible for us to obtain, but by God sending his son for us, so that through him we can be saved, he makes the impossible, possible. We also can't hide anything from God, no matter how hard we want to or try to, he knows and can see everything we do, and all the things we have done. Yet still, there he is, standing unshakeable with open arms, willing to forgive us, simply all we need is to ask.

I urge you today, to open up with God. Share everything with him, the good and the bad. Let him come into your heart, let him search your soul, let him do what he does best...let him love you. This the way you can have peace, even in your troubles. I hope you allow this love, to calm your worrisome soul.

"Let him love you... Just as you are."

Prayer For Today

Father God, Who Art In Heaven,

I know that I am not perfect. I know that I am guilty of sin, I know no amount of righteousness will ever compare to the love yo constantly have for me. I am so thankful you are a merciful Father ready to save me from the burdens and iniquities that sorrows my soul. So today I will let your great love for me in. I will simply let you love me, and I will abide in it, with a joyful, thankful, and open heart.

In Jesus Christs Name, Amen
